Buyer Beware: Are Online Beauty Products Legit?

It can take time and a lot of patience for an individual to sort out which skincare products are best for them.  Once you do find the right products, you may discover a frustrating fact: the better the products, the more costly they normally are.  This may lead you to look for your products on Amazon, EBay, Craigslist or some other online venue in order to receive a much-desired discount.  Unfortunately, what you receive may not be at all what you want.

Online Beauty Products

There are plenty of authentic beauty product sales occurring online, but the trouble is that there are also plenty of fake, diluted and expired brand name products masquerading as authentic ones, and it’s impossible to know the difference.  The real problem with purchasing sub-par products is not that you will have wasted your money on something that will not work the way you desire it to so much as that you will potentially be putting your health at risk.

When you buy any beauty product, one of the first things you want to do is ensure that it isn’t expired.  Skin is delicate, and quality products are manufactured to ensure that they will not harm its healthy balance.  However, they do expire after some time, so it is important to make sure that what you are using is not expired.  Obviously, you cannot verify a product’s expiration date via Amazon, EBay or Craigslist (although sellers may try to convince you with an authentic-looking photo of the product you want) so it’s best to avoid these altogether.

Unfortunately, we are all guilty of searching for quality products at discount prices.  I once discovered a discontinued OPI nail polish on EBay and enthusiastically made my purchase.  However, when it arrived the smell immediately made me suspicious–it was weird and it convinced me that it was likely a completely different, and obviously inferior, product that had been packaged in the OPI bottle.  To be sure, there is nothing wrong with desiring quality products at affordable prices, and if you’re considering designer shoes, handbags or clothes can definitely go all-out to find the absolute best deals possible.  But when it comes to beauty products that you place on your skin or face, it is far better to pay full price and buy from a reputable vendor so that you can ensure you are receiving what you truly desire and protecting your skin and your health
