4 Things Your Spa Therapist Wants You to Know
How many times has a friend referred you to a new stylist or spa therapist, only to be disappointed by the work that was done? Maybe you didn’t exactly click with the therapist’s personality or maybe you didn’t feel like they listened to your needs. In any case, once you find that special spa therapist who feels like she’s just one of your girlfriends, you want to make sure she knows how much you appreciate her. At the same time, it is still, in a sense, a business relationship. It can be awkward bringing up certain concerns. Here are some things that your spa therapist wants you to know so your relationship with her can thrive and you are always happy with the results.
Don’t be Afraid to Speak Up
Maybe you had a long day at work and aren’t in the mood for small talk while you are getting your nails done. Or you’re about to get a Brazilian Wax and you need as much distraction as possible to get through it. Let your therapist know! They want you to be as comfortable and happy as possible.
They’ve Seen it All Before
Think you have the crustiest troll feet ever or the hairiest bikini line? Guess what! They’ve seen it all before. Spa therapists are open-hearted and open-minded. They aren’t going to judge you as a person based on how hairy your bikini line is. It is their job to make you feel confident and beautiful.
Courtesy Shower, Please!
We all know how difficult it is to juggle work, your family, and extracurriculars, but please don’t show up to your waxing appointment fresh from the gym. Besides the obvious reasons, if you are sweaty down there, it will be more difficult for the wax to stick to your skin. A quick fresh-up before your appointment will help both you and the spa therapist.
Tipping Etiquette
Tipping is always an awkward situation. A surprising amount of people don’t know standard tipping practices or are even aware they are supposed to tip their spa therapists. The standard rate for tipping is 15-20%. If you are always satisfied with the service you receive, make sure to tip your spa therapist properly. When you show them your appreciation, they are more likely to squeeze you in for a last minute manicure or might even stay late to accommodate your schedule.
Never be afraid to approach your spa therapist about a concern or a question you might have. They are there to help you and want you to feel completely satisfied and happy with every visit to the salon.
Love,
Gen
